The Family Self-Sufficiency program has been enormously successful and is considered a model program for public housing agencies across the nation. FSS has achieved great success in providing opportunities for families to work towards their goal of self sufficiency and achieving the great “American Dream” of home ownership.

Letter from the CEO
When we see the acronym FSS we usually think Family Self-Sufficiency.  When I think FSS, I think Future, I think Stamina and I think Stability.  These three words are absolutely critical when it comes to creating a long term, economically solvent, nourishing and flourishing community.

We are on a journey that must not stop.  We are walking two trails, heading in the same direction that will converge at a single destination.  That destination is the future.  That future is defined by what we do today.  The FSS participant is fighting and attempting to overcome barriers to have that future.  You, our partners are identifying the barriers and doing what it takes to either remove the obstacle or offer the tools or equipment to assist the participant in overcoming the obstacle.  Both the participants and you our partners must persevere.  It is not enough to care, we must act!  Participants must maintain stamina and be encouraged no matter how winding and difficult the trail.  You our partners must push harder and harder and increase your commitment until we are certain we have a strong and stable vehicle that will continue to offer hope and see families succeed for years to come. Someone once said there are two kinds of people… those who say “I can’t,” and those who say, “I can.”  Both are right… The question is… which one are you?

Sincerely,
Peronia Canidate
Chief Executive Officer
